The only malfunction in Janet Jackson's wardrobe was that the left cup didn't come off too. I remember watching this live. The lyrics of the song they were singing say have you naked by the end of this song. It's not only throughout the chorus, it's literally the last line of the song. He says it as he pulls on her right cup. Then Jackson doesn't look down at the right cup that came off, she looked down at the left one that didn't come off because that's the one that malfunctioned. For crying out loud she was wearing pasties. Why would you be wearing pasties if you weren't planning on that? You can tell the cup was DESIGNED to break away by the fact that it just popped off without tearing any other part of the outfit. It's either leather or vinyl; either way, it's NOT just ripping of cleanly like that by accident. It's clearly a piece of break-away clothing. Plus, why would Timberlake do something so beyond the pale in a SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW if it wasn't scripted?! It would have ruined him. He was sitting there trying to cement a name for himself outside of Nsync and this would have been a horrendous thing for his career if it hadn't been planned. The whole thing was scripted and the only malfunction was it only half worked.
