I’m crying, I’ve never watched porn so seeing some of the examples here made me so repulsed and terrified. I knew it was bad, but I guess I pushed it away. Porn and sex work are so normalized and it’s absolutely horrifying how women are just socialized to internalize all the sickness and misogyny that comes out of it. Women and girls are so far gone through generations upon generations of abuse and misogyny that they have become completely numb to it. Hearing men make jokes about porn, or outright say they are addicted to it doesn’t even receive a blink of an eye, and women don’t want to think about it because coming to terms with it shatters your entire world. Porn is misogyny and pedophilia and hate and abuse wrapped up with a bow that lies to women and girls telling them that sexualizing yourself is “empowering” and that banning sex work and porn is controlling women's bodies. It’s man’s desire to see women and girls abused under the guise of empowerment and fake “feminism”. There is nothing empowering about being sexually degraded and abused by and for men who do not think of you as human, and there is no true consent or choice in the sex industry. I don’t think anything’s going to change unless everyone stands up against it.
