Omg, I was referred to Evan Goldstein for a anal fistula surgery, and while I will say he did a great job in resolving a reoccurring abscess, it was sad to learn from a nurse that he has participated in unethical behavior and made lewd inappropriate comments about young queer clients of color (latino boys) who have been in his care. And I will admit I felt uneasy in his presence during consultations, to which he became defensive with me and blamed me for why I felt skittish and uncomfortable in his presence, and not the fact that I was undergoing a vulnerable procedure with a doctor I did not know. It has been years since the procedure but I will NEVER forget that experience and the way he made me feel. And I’m quite sure I’m not the only one. He may be good at what he does, but he is not as innocent as he appears. I just needed to get this off my chest, as I never took the opportunity to voice or file a formal complaint. I figured it would fall on deaf ears and lead to nothing as these things tend to do, and knew I’d never willingly see him again. Hopefully he has changed, I pray that he has! This isn’t to take away from the insight he has to share here, but after seeing him pop up on my timeline it brought me immediately back to that experience, almost akin to a ptsd.

That is so true. It is like you have been thinking what I use to think about. All of this human resource being wasted in a small country like that.
