Perhaps the most damaging aspect of the Golden Age comics was the depiction of black people and Asian people in a negative manner, but at that point, that's more on the irresponsible writers/artists themselves than on the comics medium as a whole.

This is such a powerful conversation Lina and Julie. Thank you to both of you. Lina, your chapter on the fairness/unfairness of God is my personal favorite. Today’s discussion about the reality and gravity of spiritual, verbal, emotional and mental abuse within the church, and the many leaders of big and small churches who pervert and distort the sound doctrine of the faith (Jude), is so necessary. This is so needed for countless people to hear. Together you are equipping and shepherding His people and the people who are saying “I want nothing to do with that evangelical religion.” You are speaking real and honest language to the devastating behaviors done and responses of those who have been deeply hurt and shaken at their core. None of this perversion and distortion by man is from God or even about God. Wisdom and knowledge come from the LORD; through His Word and through His people who know His Voice, like both of you. Keep doing the work you have been called to do. It matters. It glorifies the Father and it’s equipping the saints to see Him and heal. I see the rich fruit of your work all the time in my office. I see the rotten fruit of many churches in my office as well. The Good News is still the Good News…Christ covers all the shame and sin done to His Beloved children. He is and will make all things new. Keep pressing forward and do not grow weary!
