Interestingly, this scene pretty much clinches that there is no romantic tension between Mariner and Boimler. They are just friends. When he sees Mariner has a thing for Jennifer, far from being jealous, he thinks it's adorable. I am relieved. I don't ever want to see Mariner and Boimler hook up. That'd be awful.

Black Water(2007) is still hands down the unmatched croc horror film.... the sheer suspense, realism and utter terror this film builds is insane and untouched by any other croc film. Not to mention the use of real crocs as compared to CGI (ROUGE 2007) to get that extra horrifying edge. This movie had me glued to the screen, unable to look away. Also, you actually feel and care for the characters, rooting for their success and even more terrified at their demise when the elusive croc gets them in it jaws. Black Water(2007) is one of those rare films that relies on pure tension building and primal fear to scare you, without the use of bloody kills or gory aftermaths to do you in. With practically no blood, no visible carnage, no big reveal of an over the top monster, this film does for the Croc Horror genre what The Conjuring films did for the ghost/possession genre. Simply builds tension and suspense to point of pure horror to the audience and doesn’t let up till the very end. (And what a heartbreaking yet thrilling end it is) If you didn’t like The Conjuring then ignore that last part, but I beg you to watch Black Water(2007), it’s a croc film like no other and deserves a much higher rating, especially higher than its lackluster rival Rogue(2007)!!!
