I listened to Prince over the years but wasn't what I would call a diehard fan. When I saw him coming to NJ back in 2004 I thought, let's go see Prince, he is an Icon so I bought tickets. We get to the facility and unlike every other concert I've been to, the stage is right in the center of the facility, smack dab in the center just like it would be for a boxing match. Then I see the staff is going up and down the isles selling champagne and people are dressed to the nines. Then, who opens the show unannounced, Morris Day and the Time. I'm a happy camper. The Prince part of the concert, that man gave us every ounce of energy he had that night. To say I was in awe would be a complete understatement. I've been to tons of concerts but nothing and no one came close to the performance of Prince that night. I often see people ask in a post who is the greatest guitarist. If you've seen Prince live you would know and I've been around for a while. I do believe what others have said, he came from a difference place.

Interesting Jonathan, a nice little independent film, this was in 1992, just about the time I got seriously into “street life”. My first time I was also 15, I only received 5 dollars, a little bit of cash justified the actions, I was not attracted to the person at all, I guess I was lost, so many kids were back then, however it was relatively “safe”. A few close calls that I managed to escape from fortunately. At 18 in 1990-91 I was alone from any adult influences, the majority of “kids - young adults” were. Things were okay for about a year and then it all fell apart, many became addicted to drugs, some committed suicide, some were caught breaking the law, a few serious, but mostly being caught working the streets, I thankfully was not caught. Most of the kids did not come from hard knocks backgrounds, most were middle to upper class, some from very well off families, however everyone had cut ties to their families. I was the last of my friends to regularly begin doing this, I did not wish to do it, however I was broke and they had cash to do stuff. I never thought that I was anything special, i was “recruited” into higher end escort work and so was a girl I went to school with, everyone else stayed on the streets, the money was only a little bit extra and although there was “security” to protect you, it was still a little unsafe and more of a controlling environment. People wanted the money I could earn. I went back and forth into the industry. I peaked and stopped at around 35, I quit, I just had enough and could not do it anymore. Some may say 35 is old, I knew people doings this in their 50s and 60s and making a lot of money. My late 20s saw big dollars and a lot of international travel, I managed to cut down to about 4 or five clients who lived in other states and countries. ‘working” a few days every month set me up with absolutely no financial concerns. It was fast easy big money right from the beginning for me, but of course it was never enough. I was never in debt though, unlike now with a real job. While I saw the world and received many opportunities that i would never had the opportunity to take and benefited not only in money but all kinds of luxury goods, art, antiques, stock tips, etc. in the end I would take it all back, it was not worth it, I have seen many lives destroyed. It is such a strange industry you never know who or what will happen, I, like this movie, did have “clients” that liked to pretend that they were journalists and only wanted interviews. It takes all types I guess.
