I went through the same thing. I was wilding out and it landed me a prison sentence. My roommate was this uber quiet bible reading white guy from the south and being incarcerated up north meant he got no respect. He was called klansmen and everything but to me the guy was a really good dude so it bothered me that he got picked on. I even started standing up for the guy. Finally I started trying to understand this whole God thing and began reading the bible although, outside of a few popcorn prayers, I wasn't really praying to God. One day after breakfast we were coming back from the chow hall and this big dude that I was really cool with named Latif started picking on my roommate and as usual I began telling him to leave my roommate alone. I was so annoyed by it that out of frustration I asked God...Why is this happening? Why is he continuously picking on my roommate? This is ridiculous God!!!! and a voice from heaven said...All will have to answer to me on their day of judgment....and the vision of a throne popped in my head. It wasn't an audible voice in that my ears were hearing it. The only way I can explain it is that my soul heard the voice of God speaking to it. It was a weird disembodied heavenly voice followed by a benevolent presence of reassurance that no amount of drugs, imagination or correctional officers talking over a loud speaker could ever create. People call it a spiritual awakening, I call it a burning bush moment(as in, Moses and the burning bush). I eventually devoted myself to understanding Gods word, gave up wilding out and robbing people, became celibate and became a Christian, remaining celibate until my wedding day. That same presence told me that I would get married and even told me the names of my children and how many we would have(four). It told me to start a journal and documented what was being told to me by it so for 3 years I wrote down in a journal what was being told to me. It told me and my wife on our first date that we were to be married. On my wedding day I gave my wife the journal and it turns out the heavenly presence told her to do the same thing...write down what it was telling her in a journal. The presence continues to speak to me, sometimes more frequently than others, guiding me in my life with direction and reassurance when I question whether what I'm doing is right, guides me in times of confusion when I simply don't know what I'm doing, and encourages me when I feel like giving up. That presence actually isn't an it, but a He and is called the holy spirit...Gods holy spirit...and He is very real. As real as earth, wind, fire and water.

Regarding what the ladies said. - It’s one thing to have fantasies - it’s another thing to act out on them. They alluded to this. And as you said, regardless of rules, you can’t control emotions. Having fun with lots of people is exciting, but bringing in others into a committed relationship poses many risks. And as much as someone thinks they can control those risks - I believe they cannot.
