And that's what hung him - when a 2nd photographer arrived the next day and re-photographed the entire scene, the checkbook had been moved slightly and another detective - who did not confer with the first - reported the checkbook was normal. IT'S NOT LAW & ORDER - cops make mistakes all the time. The real detective in this case compensated for the mistakes of others - and that's how Meatloaf played him. Years later, that brilliant detective put all these complex pieces together and compared everything from e very investigator the preceded him. We call them the Super-cops, and he was one of them..
