As for the story, I believe that this was a planned attack and the fact that the elder was killed as the gunmen were leaving proves that. They definitely didn't want any witnesses but they made a mistake because either they didn't know that there were cameras in the area or they didn't anticipate someone filming the whole thing. great video. i too visited both places a few days ago, with a friend. we were just there to visit like you, and had a great time at both places. we went to Sheri's first, and visited with a couple of the workers (as well as with another guest in the bar) then got a tour. they explained to us that at Sheri's they don't do the classic 'line up' automatically when guests walk in (where all the workers line up for a guest), though they do those upon request. Sheri's they explained has a more laid back vibe. workers lounge around in the bar, and guests are free to visit with various workers. someone rings a bell if one worker has talked to a guest for too long, so that no one worker is allowed to dominate a guest's attention. i found the entire experience very fascinating. the level of hospitality was just wonderful and overwhelmingly satisfying, even for me, a gay man. we didn't eat there though, but i want to next time. got an awesome handkerchief souvenir in the gift shop. the Chicken Ranch was a very different vibe. the workers are in a room separate from the bar, and when a guest walks in, the workers immediately all line up. we told the door worker we were just stopping in for a quick tour, so we didn't enter the lineup room, and instead were directed to the bar. they were friendly enough and let us sit there for a while and drink our water bottles, which they gave us for free, though i did tip to express gratitude. my friend got to meet one of the workers (there's a tv above the bar with rotating photos of them), and she and he went to a separate room to visit for a few minutes. i was hoping for more chit chat and warmth at the Chicken Ranch, but it felt more business first to me. also they weren't able to give us a tour, i forget why. but everyone was very polite at both places. fascinating though how we all have different experiences in life. sorry for sharing my experience here, i had nowhere else to share it, and it was so much fun. love you both and wishing you all the best on your travels
