The statistics that are cited apply only to the city itself which comprises maybe 1/4 of the population in the region. Yes, the city has a few high crime areas... Over The Rhine, Lower Price Hill, South Fairmount, but the vast majority of the city is perfectly safe. There are areas like Hyde Park, Madeira, Mt. Adams and Mariemont that are beautiful, walkable small towns where families walk to get ice cream or sit out in sidewalk cafes. Homes are affordable and areas that had ornate but neglected homes that were built in the late 1800's are being turned into showpieces. A rehabbed Italianate row house from the 1890's that would cost over $1M in Brooklyn or the Back Bay in Boston should only cost you $250K in Cincinnati. The pictures used in the video are at least 15 years old. A more up to date photo looking up the river would show all of the new high rise and low rise condos that overlook the river on the Kentucky side. None of what is in this video is accurate.
