When I was 21, I used to work with this insanely hot older woman, she was 9 years older and had surprisingly shown interest in me a few times. She was very into CrossFit. I randomly bought shoes for lifting, not knowing that they were CrossFit sneakers. Someone at work had mentioned to her that I must have started CrossFit because of my sneakers, so on her way out of the building one day she stopped by in front of at least 10 people and said Hey, I like the CrossFit sneakers, John told me you started training?? For the love of god, all I had to do was say No, I just like the shoes, but maybe I'll come by your gym one day to try it out. but instead I shouted Oh yeah, that's why I got them, been going a few weeks now, loving it. To which she immediately replied Really, which one, where!? and I stoned-faced looked her right in the eyes like an uncontrollable moron and said Yeah I don't remember the name, it's off exit 52, it's got a big ol gate in front of it, gravel parking lot, next to a pool place, I think the guy's name was Bill, my old co-worker Ryan brought me. She didn't hesitate at all, and with a very turned-off face, she said Your lying... why are you lying to me?. Turning beet red, I doubled down, told her that would be crazy, and said I'd find out the name tomorrow and let her know. She replied Ok... well, this was weird. I avoided her for 4 months after that. My buddies still randomly ask me how CrossFit is going, just to be assholes.
