I am a small contractor (referrals-only). I used to work for the big Pest Control company and I sold 6 mil DuraSkim with a Santa Fe Dehumidifier ($3000). After I sold them, the clients got a one year warranty and then paid $225 minimum to $650 per year for extended warranty and filter change. I worked for the for 4.5 years and to this day, I have never even seen a Santa Fe filter or pre-filter. 1/3 of the time, the walls were laying on the ground at the first inspection. Service got mad at me if I turned in a service ticket for them to go back out with toxic spray adhesive and try to stick the walls back up. I don’t remember a system that DIDNT have a cat pee odor that got worse year after year. On the day I quit I remember thinking that I would rather be driving to a penitentiary to turn myself in to start a sentence than to work there for another day. I am far from a saint, but knowingly ruining people’s home while overcharging them is just beneath me. Having them sign a ticket that said I personally changed a filter that I didn’t have from people who trusted me ? Well, it’s beneath me. I’m no Angel , but I’m not that low
