I also wanted to comment in regards to therapists digging into your past. Your experience with therapy is shared by a lot of men. A lot of male therapists have publicly stated that a lot of their training revolves around how to deal with female patients, and doesn't take into account the fact that men tend to think and process things differently. Men typically need to know why, need to understand the healing process, and need an action plan; women tend to need to talk things through and feel heard/understood. And as you probably noticed, your sessions were really heavily skewed toward making you talk and not so big on giving you a workable plan. The good news is that the field is finally starting to delve into how to better help men, but finding providers that specialize in male patients can still be difficult. No shade to female providers, but as a man, your best bet is to find a male provider. At a minimum, they can at least relate to and understand the male experience because they live it, and will most likely have some understanding of what doesn't work for male patients (because they know what doesn't work for themselves).

Forced body transformation/modification has also been a huge trauma/fear of mine since I was a kid. That scene from Star Wars Clone Wars where that Nelvaan gets permanently transformed into a deformed monster scarred me for life, even worse knowing he sort of had it a bit better than the others that were also transformed. (And don't even get me started on the Stroggification scene from Quake 4)

I remember seeing this as a kid and thinking it wasn’t so bad, but seeing it as an adult is crazy lol.
