Lemme say this, this video keeps coming and coming and coming and coming, why aren't we talking about pryce's outstanding performance, I will have to explain the entirety of his career myself. Thomas Maldwyn Pryce from Wales was a motorsport lover during his college years, when he won a championship later in the 70's. He later quit his job and had a dream to become one of the best F1 drivers, his natural talent showed in formula 3, formula F1000, and Formula 2. In 1974, a formula 1 team, Token decided it was the time to get him to F1, but the team was inexperienced and not the best team for him. The next race on the 1974 calendar was the monaco grand prix, the token team was banned afterwards and leaving the welshman without a team to race, however there was another way, formula 3. He DOMINATED that race on the streets on Monaco. In a wet weather race Tom Pryce won by 20 seconds to the driver behind, an outstanding performance so good that a team, Shadow-Ford wanted him to join the team, although his first race with them at the Dutch Grand Prix wasn't that great, he still proved to the team he was a force to be reckoned with, taking a shocking 3rd place in qualifying at the French Grand Prix. It was so impressive that Niki Lauda, the then two-time champion, made a complaint that Pryce was using too much curbs at every corner which failed. At the british grand prix, he finished for the first time, finishing a respectable 8th, although next year, 1975 would end being the best year with the te- wait.... lotus wanting him for the 1975 season, and it didn't happened??? What the f- Lotus wanted Pryce to replace Ronnie Petersen for the remainder of the year, but it didn't happen as shadow was low on money and can't pay for the driver swap. So Pryce ended up staying with shadow, which ended up the best year. At the Race Of Champions (non-official points race), he took pole in qualifying, and at race day, he had a poor start, but that didn't matter, as Jody Scheckter in the Tyrrell pitted in lap 26, Pryce later took the lead infront of his buddy, John Watson and Ronnie Petersen, and it would stay that way as Pryce won, unofficially making him the first and only welsh F1 driver to win a race, but he didn't stop there. He also took an amazing pole position at Silverstone, becoming the first welsh to do so, he also was the first welsh to lead a lap. Unfortunately he would crash at the worst part during a rainy race day and would not get that win in his career, he would impress again at the german grand prix at Nurburgring, despite a fuel leak burning his back he finished 4th, the best finish of his career at that point. 1976 was a bit of a roller coaster year, the Shadow-Ford team had no upgrades to the car, therefore making this even hard for Pryce to keep up, he still finished a 4th at the first race after James Hunt was disqualified, as races gone by, it was the Japanese Grand Prix, where he would show how impressive he was at the wet weather, battling with other drivers with faster cars than him, but his engine blew as laps went by, ending his day. 1977 would be a bad start for him, DNFing two races as the shadow team cannot keep up with it's other rivals as reliability and power worsened the car, the DN8. Still, he showed in qualifying at a rainy day he was fast at the South African Grand Prix, which he qualified lap time a second ahead of Niki Lauda's car. However as the track dried up, his performance from the shadow car was diminished, ending up with a 15th place starting grid. At race day it wasn't better, he had a bad start making him last, but as laps went by he took 9 positions. What happens next would end his career, and his life.... and that's where it ends, right? Sadly, it was. After his death, Australian driver, Alan Jones replaced him at Long Beach, and won his first race in a wet weather Austrian Grand Prix, in 1980 he won the championship, putting a fitting tribute to Tom Pryce
