Easily one of the best documentaries I have ever seen on YouTube. What's especially interesting is how it deals with the bombing - cutting from the desolation, to surrender, to kids, to blackboard science. Whatever people's opinion, that section was very much glossed over. Very much a product of its time.

the whole failing at being a girl thing is something that really hits a nerve with me. it's how i describe my own experience as an afab kid before i realised i was a nonbinary lesbian - i constantly felt this discomfort with being a girl, like i was doing something wrong but couldn't put my finger on why or how. i tried performing femininity on-and-off, between long stretches of being a tomboy, and it never lessened the feeling that i was still somehow failing. only when i started to step out of that binary box and experiment with labels, pronouns and presentation did i reallse where that sense of failure was coming from: i literally COULDN'T be a girl, and it wasn't fair of me to expect myself to. when i stopped trying to be and started just meeting myself where i was as, that perpetual itch under my skin almost completely stopped. i think there's probably a lot of potential underlying causes of that sense of failing to be a girl but it's definitely a relatable feeling for some of us and we deserve to be able to explore the edges of that girl box and maybe transgress them to find out where we sit on the gender spectrum, whether it's GNC woman or trans man or nonbinary

Could relate to so much , I joined Army ( Infantry) in 1988 , did Germany , Gulf War , Northern Ireland , close protection, working doors loads of clubbing in the 90’s … I never went down the drug route though I know a few that did !
