I don't know how far the parallel with music goes, but regarding streaming services, I can just tell you that, as a musician, I honestly prefer if you just illegally download my music. Well, you'd have to anyways since I don't put it up on those streaming services. For me it's the difference between someone stealing my music, and someone stealing my music but in the process making some large multinational filthy rich. Subscription to those sites (Deezer, Spotify, etc.) don't help musicians at all (perhaps there's some value in added coverage, so potentially larger turn-out at live gigs, but that's pretty much it). However, there might be something to the patreon-like systems. That actually does help and makes it possible to make a living. I don't know if any porn actors use that system but it could be a viable way for them to make actual money without relying on these large platforms. Since sites like Patreon usually have some sort of rules on content, it might have to be through direct patronage. That assumes though that consumers have a degree of attachment to the work of one particular actor, instead of say attachment to a genre or a particular position or whatever.
