I moved from NE Ohio to S. Carolina almost 8 years ago. I've lived through blizzards, subzero temperatures, tons of snow, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, springs where it rained for 2 weeks straight, 70° one day and 30° the next. Sure some of the things you mentioned would deter some people from moving here (the unhealthy foods you cited- there's unhealthy foods in every state!!!) but not me. The weather, the beauty, being able to go to the beach whenever I want to, the southern people (the most polite people I've ever met) simply cannot be beat imho. I love it here!!!
