I owned a S3 for over 10 years, and I love the cordless. Cordless is more stealth because no hanging cord for thief to notice. It is clean, hideaway at the very top of the windshield. As far as battery is concern, I bought a pack of battery and drop them in the glove compartment and never worry about battery for a whole year. It was stated that cordless is in sleep mode to save battery but to my experience, S3 responded far beyond eye sight. On highway driving, the S3 would warn long and a while driving before you can see the cop as a toy car ahead of you. The bad news is, don't know if I misplaced mine or it was stolen recently. My point for having a radar detector around is like having a dog around your home. When you are relex and forgot your feet on the pedal, your radar would barge to remind you of an intruder near by.
