Hi Ivan watching from Perth Western Australia about your unit in Australia we render the walls which is what the plasters have done to your unit, plastering is put on top of the rendering, wall plaster is white and smooth so you can paint the walls. I have never seen a house or unit with just rendering on the inside walls, we use the rendering to square up the walls and make them flat then we put a coat of lime plaster on the walls which leaves the walls white and smooth

Greeny those things are called finger cots , every year my sister in law would throw a huge birthday party for my nephew , everyone would gather round and watch him as he opened his presents and read his birthday cards out loud to the crowd, when he turned fifteen I put a few of those in a card, when he opened the card they fell out on the floor and held them up and said “ what the hell are these things “ then he read the card out loud … “ Happy Birthday big guy , now that you are 15 and have been going with the same girl for a few months I thought you should have these , if they are too big and fall off let me know and I’ll buy you some smaller ones .”…. ( he actually finished reading the card before he realized what was going on, he turned red but he laughed right along with everyone else )
