I have to admit.....seeing these old shows from a long gone MTv not only brings back a whole lot of memories, it also makes me feel both happy, along with sad and disgusted. I remember when MTv hit the air...then, a few years later, after several petitions, the cable system in my area finally allowed it on to our cable. It literally took several times for them to finally listen to what we wanted. From there, it became a staple of my TV viewing pretty much from then right up until about my senior year, and right after when it became unwatchable for me. Keeping in mind that they actually used to take most of a 24 hour day and devote it to music videos and music news, they did also have some shows on, too. Shows like Liquid Television, Beavis and Butthead came along later, Celebrity Deathmatch, HeadBangers Ball, and one of my favorites besides those was always their 1/2 hour comedy hour. They showed a whole lot of folks on there that were not quite household names just yet..but were damn funny. It almost seemed like an overnight switch, too. They went away from those types of shows, and replaced a lot of their music time with those reality type shows. Once they started with those, they took over the network. I never understood how or why people liked those shows...any of them lol. It took them several years to even get on a lot of cable systems...it took them far less time to destroy everything that they once were....and to destroy the art form that was the music video. there were a lot of bad videos for sure...but, there were also a lot of them that were great...a lot of times...better than the songs they were made for lol. For those of us that remember the golden Time of MTv...Ladies and Gentlemen....Rock n Roll! \m/
