This film is so underrated. The cast is great, the characters are likeable, the plot is solid. It's not just a typical shot for shot carbon copy of the original, it is in it's own way original. No, nobody can outperform Robert Englund as Freddy, that's a fact. HOWEVER, take nothing away from Jackie Earle Hayley's performance. He was very dark and sadistic. Jackie played a great Freddy. There is no real reason to hate this film but there are many reasons to like it.

It was commonly referred to as the 'Schmeisser' by Allied troops. This was due to it's similarity to the older MP18 designed by Hugo Schmeisser. Although it shares many design attributes, Schmeisser was not involved with the MP40 design.

Hey, I've got a story for you to write. More of a premise really. Two male crew members, one a junior scientist. Someone with a bit of nievetè. They set out on a journey in an experimental craft. It has a new kind of propulsion. As they take flight, something goes wrong. There is a flash of light. They find themselves adrift in orbit around the earth. An orbital space station rescues them. But, there are already signs that things are different. The captain of the station is a woman. They come to realize as the story goes on. That they have been thrown into another dimension. Here, feminine presenting women, are considered trans? Gender is reversed. The men here mostly all wear makeup and have pierced ears. The dresses are made for them. They can be soft, because they are. And it's the women who run it all. Let them explore that place. Tell us what they feel. In a place where it's all for them and there is literally no reason to be afraid. Other than possibly predatory women. Which exist in real life by the way😊
