When Yeomi wanted to escape to Mongolia, he supported her. He said he was sorry for everything, that he regretted taking her innocence, that he never would have done it if he knew she was only 13, and that his dreams were plagued by omages of her father, and that he was convinced her father's spirit was haunting him for what he did. When she was about to criss the desert, she called him and they cried together over the phone. She said she would pray that she could forgive him some day and that her father would stop haunting him. He even promised to tend to her father's grave every day, and when her mother returned to collect her father's remains they found that he kept his promise and even grew a sentry tree next to his grave.
