Here is the thing about all of these issues. Yoshi p has gone on record saying that everything they do they do for the fan base, aka every decision made is one that they feel the majority of the fan base supports, and given the team's track record on keeping a pulse on the community, I am inclined to believe them. FF14 has a big problem in terms of a split community. Many people want harder content, and those people tend to be the content creators for the game, but the majority of the player base are casual andy's, they dont want harder content, they just want to log on, do there few dailies, and log off, and occasionally spend a few hours doing the new content on patch days. Not to mention the biggest point, everyone and their mom use to complain about class imbalance and that some classes were just better for certain fights. So what was the response from the devs? Make the classes more streamlined and easy to understand, which also makes then less unique. And now the response to that is to complain that classes aren't unique? It just shows once again that hardcore player are outnumbered and that means the devs are going to move in a direction that appeals to the more casual players.
